Stables Steakhouse in Terre Haute

Service was excellent and atmosphere is very inviting. Food was delicious. Just a little over priced but well worth it.

Was introduced to Oysters Rockefeller. I will never eat oysters another way again. Service, drinks, food, and company were all amazing!

went last weekend, the Pork Shank was outstanding as always! My only complaint was that our service was not good, out waitress only came once to bring out our food and never came back. We usually have great service otherwise.

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff was perfectly attentive, the facility was warm and inviting, and our food was prepared to perfection. A great bonus were the old photos and framed newspaper articles from the local area, from nearly 100 years ago. We can't wait to come back!!

The manager, Brittany, showed me around and was exceedingly knowledgeable about the history and the decor and design. My expectations for the food was higher than the quality. You are paying for the decor and rehabilitation of the building. My experience here was not perfect, because of the server. I am gluten free and lactose free and they did not serve my meal according to my diet restrictions. However, I am still awarding Stables Steakhouse 4 stars because the manager was very hospital and accommodating. I don't want to ruin others experience based on a server who might be new. Be prepared to spend at least $50 per person. I would recommend Stables for a special occasion. You must inquire about the history and also ask about the specific design per room. Excellent wine collection. An ideal location for private events.

Super cool atmosphere! Filet was melt in your mouth!! Try the maple bourbon carrots! If you like Bourbon, their bacon/maple Old Fashioned was yummy! First timers but we'll be back! Our server Charlie was very thorough. Great Job!!!

This place is freaking amazing! Amy, the head chef, is truly talented. We had the filet, scallops, and New York strip. All delicious! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

This place has a very unique intimate atmosphere. It is dimly-lit width interesting wall decor and seating With all of the structure of a stable. Very nice to go for a special occasion

Steaks were amazing. Service is dress up. So dress nice. The atmosphere is nice the crowd gets a little vulgar. Not good for little ears. The service was awesome. The bus boy talked for a minute and I asked what was good he stated the crab cakes. That was a very true statement. It reminded me of being in Florida again with fresh crab cakes. The menu is very expensive but the taste is worth it. The bread served before the meal was hot and delicious. The steaks were perfectly cooked. The presentation was very nice. I recommend asking for olive oil from the server and dipping the bread in it with the balsamic from the crab cakes. Very good mix. Over all the place was great. All and all dont go without an appetite and a light wallet. It was $130 for my meal and my wife's.

The food was fantastic, and service was amazing!! Live music when we walked in, the atmosphere is elegant, and the server was so personable. My steak was phenomenal! My perfect "fancy pants Birthday dinner"! Thanks Peter for you hard work!

Had a great time and a delicious meal.. service was awesome.. did request a booth and was seated across from the bar.. we went with it anyway but would have enjoyed a booth seating especially since we walked passed 2 open booths before we were seated elsewhere.. guess special requests are looked over .

I didn't get any pictures of my steak because it was so good I didn't want to waste a moment not eating it. Stables Steakhouse is easily one of the most exquisite restaurants that I have visited across the country. The experience was absolutely top tier. The atmosphere was perfectly laid back, private, and suitable for every type of occasion. The food, starting from the apps to the wedge salad to the main course was all easily 11 out of 10 good. This restaurant will hold a special place in my heart for a very long time after that experience.

The best restaurant in Terre Haute. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. Excellently prepared dishes with steaks, seafood, pasta, and fantastic appetizers. Leave room for their signature dessert, bread pudding. Sounds plain but it certainly is not. The wait staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Table staff are quick and efficient. The building itself throws you back in time and seating is intimate. Always a very pleasant experience.

Had a great time attending an event in was used to be the hay loft. Typically known for a romantic evening, Stables also has room for a variety of event offerings. The GM has been there 13 years and his passion shows. We are lucky enough to have him create our cocktails. He has spoiled us. Can't wait to return.
